Our Story
Back in 1988, deep in the heart of McAllen, Texas, a man named Jay Hanshaw saw a need that most folks overlooked. Pickup trucks were everywhere—working hard, hauling gear, chasing sunsets—but they lacked the gear to match their grit. So Jay opened a modest shop specializing in camper shells, giving trucks the protection and utility they deserved.
Word spread fast. Texas Tops wasn’t just selling accessories—it was elevating the truck experience. Over the years, the shop grew from a local favorite to a full-service powerhouse, offering everything from lift kits and LED lights to diesel tanks and industrial shelving for commercial fleets. They even launched their own in-house spray-on bedliner and mechanic services, making Texas Tops a one-stop shop for truck lovers and working professionals alike.
What set them apart wasn’t just the inventory—it was the commitment to customer service, expert installation, and a deep connection to the community.
